Preventative care is intended to detect or prevent diseases and medical problems before they become a major issue. Annual physical exams, immunizations, certain lab tests and screenings are all examples of preventative care. Preventative care is aimed at early detection of disease in order to provide proactive care and is part of maintaining good health and wellness.
